I’ve spent my career learning one thing from many different sides: people remember how an experience makes them feel.

A busy Chicago bar. A treatment room. A classroom. A website. A resort. A skincare consultation. A thirty-second piece of content.

They may look like completely different environments, but the psychology behind a great experience is remarkably similar.

People want to feel understood. They want expertise they can trust without being overwhelmed by it. They want experiences that feel personal rather than manufactured. And increasingly, they want brands and professionals who can educate them, not simply sell to them.

My career developed around that idea long before I had words for it.

I spent more than a decade in Chicago hospitality learning people and service in real time. I returned to my educational roots through professional aesthetics, eventually spending almost a decade working with skin, advanced technologies and client education. I built Lux Skin Bar® from those experiences, then created Lux Wellness Academy to take the philosophy beyond a treatment room.

Along the way, I learned to build the websites, develop the education, create the visuals, market the concepts, grow the social communities and communicate the ideas myself.

Today, those experiences come together in the work I do across wellness, aesthetics, education, hospitality, digital marketing, UGC, creative strategy and brand development.

Where I First Learned the Art of Understanding People

Long before customer experience, brand strategy and wellness became part of my professional vocabulary, hospitality taught me their foundation: people remember how you make them feel.

Throughout my twenties, I spent more than a decade working in Chicago’s fast-paced hospitality industry—from high-volume city venues to sophisticated mixology, nightlife, music and event environments. My experience grew from direct guest service into head bartender, management and event coordination roles, where I learned to read a room, anticipate needs, communicate across personalities and create an experience that feels effortless to the guest—even when everything behind the scenes is moving at full speed.

That decade gave me skills I still use every day in wellness, aesthetics, education, marketing and brand development: guest experience, service excellence, leadership, relationship building, team coordination, event execution, problem-solving and the ability to understand what people need—sometimes before they know how to ask for it.

My professional hospitality training includes BASSET certification, ServSafe certification and Southern Wine & Spirits professional training.

Hospitality may have been the first chapter of my career, but its greatest lesson became part of everything I built afterward:

Skin Bar®

Sometimes the problem you spend years trying to solve becomes the work you’re meant to understand.

My relationship with skincare and skin health began long before aesthetics became my profession.

As a teenager in the early 2000s, I struggled with acne at a time when credible skincare education was far less accessible. Later came the realities of a demanding Chicago hospitality career—late nights, irregular schedules, changing beauty trends and years of experimenting with products without truly understanding what my skin needed or why.

What began as a personal search for answers gradually became something deeper.

Curiosity became education. Education became expertise. And expertise became a new career.

I graduated from the University of Aesthetics & Cosmetology in Chicago, became an Illinois State Board Licensed Esthetician, and went on to build nearly a decade of experience across professional skincare, advanced aesthetics and Chicago med-spa environments.

My professional experience introduced me to a wide spectrum of advanced aesthetic technologies, laser-based treatments, non-invasive modalities, professional skincare formulations, skin analysis, treatment protocols and evolving approaches to skin health and rejuvenation.

Working alongside the clinical side of the beauty industry showed me what modern aesthetics could achieve—but it also revealed a gap I couldn't stop thinking about.

Clients were often choosing between two very different experiences:

A relaxing spa facial that felt wonderful but didn't always deliver enough visible correction—or more aggressive aesthetic procedures that could bring results with greater discomfort, risk and downtime.

I became fascinated by everything that could exist between those two worlds.

What if advanced skincare could be effective without making self-care feel clinical? What if technology, professional formulations, personalization and relaxation could work together rather than compete?

That question eventually became the foundation for Lux Skin Bar®.

I didn't want to choose between results and experience. I wanted to create a better way to combine them.

THE CREATION OF LUX SKIN BAR®

What if high-performance aesthetics and genuine self-care didn't have to exist in separate rooms?

That question became Lux Skin Bar®.

I didn't want to create another local facial studio.

I wanted to develop a modern, adaptable aesthetics concept where professional skincare, non-invasive technology, visible results and sensory wellness could coexist within one carefully designed experience.

The Lux approach evolved around strategic treatment layering — combining compatible, high-performance, non-invasive modalities with professional formulations and a thoughtful sensory experience.

Rather than forcing every client into a standardized protocol, treatments can be adapted around individual skin needs, goals and tolerance while prioritizing minimal downtime, minimal discomfort and skin integrity.

Professional performance without forgetting the human experience.

Science without removing self-care.

Technology without making the client feel like a procedure.

Where true self-care meets science and performance-driven results.

Lux Skin Bar® became the physical expression of that philosophy.

But creating Lux required far more than practicing aesthetics.

I developed the concept, treatment philosophy, service architecture, consultation approach, protocols, client journey, brand identity, website, marketing, educational materials, digital communication and creative direction surrounding it.

That experience changed the way I saw myself professionally.

I wasn't only an esthetician anymore.

I had become a concept creator and brand builder.
